Study on Changing of Food Industry Development Model for Food Safety Issues in China

Public concerns over food safety might cast doubt over the Chinese governments ability to regulate the food industry. First, with the frequent occurrence of the phenomenon of Chinas food safety issues and the theme of the changing of food industry development model, paper presents the research hypotheses: starting from the two aspects of the ways of the food industrial chains development and means of government administration, be able to complete the development pattern of the food industry, and solve the food safety issues at the end. In the argument section, the article has analyzed the food industry chain and food industry clusters deeply. Three problems are identified in the current model: excessive process and long industry chain; low industry concentration; and low threshold of industrial access. Suggested solutions to the problems are proposed to modify the current mode. With an improved industry chain and enhanced government regulation, food safety could be improved and food scandals could be prevented.
