An Analysis of Media Resonance Impact on Public Policy Agendas —A Case Study of Sanya Customer Fleecing Gate

With the large number and rapid growth of Micro-blog users in recent years, a social hot issue triggered by new media usually leads to the massive media coverage. The large-scale media reporting phenomenon is called Media Resonance which would turn national attention to the hot issues and guide public opinions. Meanwhile, Media Resonance could pressure decision makers to adjust their policies and resetting the policy agenda. This thesis aims to from the view of communication, refers the mass communication and interpersonal communication theory, combined the content analysis and qualitative methods, take the case of Sanya Customer Fleecing Gate as an example, to analyze the Media Resonances impact on public policy agendas.
