Reshaping the Image of Local Government in China
Service-oriented government is both the trend of economic and social development and the essential requirement of building a socialist harmonious society in China. Grassroots government is the lifeblood of the communist party of China (CPC) and the foundation of government and the parrys rulings, as well as the direct agency providing the services for the majorities. However, due to various reasons, grassroots government shows some unsatisfactory images in the eyes of ordinary people, such as the poor performance of service concept, unreasonable decision-making, more bureaucratic government, poor awareness of law and opaque running system, and so on. In view of the above negative phenomena, according to the concepts of service-oriented government with transparent service, democracy, equality, and ruling by law, this paper proposes the following suggestions, including strengthening information disclosure, enhancing service awareness, establishing the people-centered thoughts, improving the administrations by laws and intensifying scientific decision-making strategies to remodel a good image of the grassroots government.
