The Environment of the Antagonism Decoding and the Government Public Communication Strategies in China
Through the content analysis of the Tian Ya forums commentaries published within two weeks after the 7.23 Yongwen line Motor Car serious traffic accident that happened on July 23, 2011, it is found that the inclination of antagonism decoding carried by the opinion leaders on network commentary is a representation of the intensification of social contradictions in the period of social transition. The antagonism decoding is formed from three reasons: the decline of the government credibility, the changes in the dissemination ideas, and the inner expectations of opinion leaders. Therefore, aiming at the formation characteristics of the antagonism decoding, the article puts forward constructive suggestions on public communication strategies for the Chinese government, includes cultivating mature spokesmen and using new network communication media proficiently.
