The Application of Geographical Indicators and Rural Economic Development in Chongqing, China
Geographical indication as a natural and cultural resources, it is scarce and non-renewable. Geographical indication protection product is mainly agricultural products, so it can be a market tool with great economic value. As a municipality, Chongqing has huge rural population, how to solve issues concerning agriculture, countryside and farmers is the most important for government. Therefore, how to use the intellectual property protection on geographical indication has important theoretical and practical value on increasing farmers income, driving the new rural construction, and developing characteristic agriculture. The implementation of intellectual property protection strategy of Chongqings agricultural products has the vital significance on promoting the agricultural production, improving level of industry, speeding up the development of efficient modern agriculture.
