Influence of water-jet cavitation peening on fatigue strength of titanium alloy by friction welding plate
Water jet cavitation peening can be applied to improve the strength and mechanical properties of the friction-welded joints of titanium alloys. In this paper, influence of water-jet cavitation peening on fatigue strength of a titanium alloy by friction welding plate was studied. The fatigue experiments by in-situ SEM were used to describe the mechanism of improved fatigue strength of the welded joint of titanium alloy plate in observation of crack tip. The residual stress on the surface of the welded joint indicated the effect of peening time on the fatigue strength of titanium friction welding plate.
