A new flame retardant-Phosphinic acid/salt with controlled N-P Ratio

Phosphorus-based flame retardants have been paid more and more concentration . Their flame retardant efficient in some polymers such as polyester and polyamide will be improved in the presence of nitrogen element and improvement depends greatly on the ratio of the phosphorus to nitrogen. These nitrogen-contain components are often added into polymer by mechanical mixing, which will bring some disadvantages such as poor compatibility with other additives and deteriorating the mechanical properties of the final materials. Synergistic effects of N can be carried out by combining nitrogen and phosphorus element into a molecule, and the performance of polymer can be tailored by adjusting the ratio of P to N.
