The compounds containing P-C bonds are preferred as flame retardants. This is because it promotes char formation, high fireproofing efficiency at low phosphorus concentration, thermal stability and easy synthesis. Some compounds containing P-C have been synthesized and used to enhanced flame retardancy to polymers such as phosphorate, phosphine and phosphine oxide. Sulfur compounds act in the condensed phase
