Thermal degradation and flammability of PE/graphite nanoplate composites

The discovery of graphene in 2004 has stimulated a number of investigations of its fabrication. Unique properties of the new material such as high electrical conductivity about 6000 S/cm and tensile strength about 1 TPa make it advantageous (perspective) for using in a wide range of applications as well as in compositions with polymers. However nowadays there is an important problem of graphene mass-production. All diversity of developed approaches can be divided on the two general directions top down and bottom up, where in the first case we try to extract a monolayer from the original graphite, and in the second - to create supramolecular aromatic structure from the low mass weight units.
