Use of ammonium sulfamate and nanoparticles to flame retard polyamide 6 fibers
1.Introduction Polyamide fibers represent one of the most used technical fibers in a variety of applications such as building, automotive or aeronautics industries. Those fibers (mainly based on polyamide 6 or 6,6) present some interesting performance such as high mechanical properties (tensile strength is higher than that of wool, silk, rayon or cotton), high chemical stability, high melting point... However, due to their organic composition, those fibers are flammable which could limit their application in the previously cited sectors. Thus, the objective of this paper is to develop flame retarded polyamide fibers.
