Challenges and Opportunities of Pesticide Application in Agriculture & Horticulture

With the current world population of 7 billion people set to expand to 10 billion people by 2050, society has many challenges to face. We need to produce more food on less land with less inputs, whilst conserving our natural resources. We need to provide sustainable farming systems that will allow us to produce and transport abundant, safe and affordable food to an ever-growing population. Hunger amongst the extremely poor people of the world must end; the global community must support this challenge. The shifting climate is affecting the types of crops people can grow. Society has to address carbon emissions and develop alternate energy sources. Water availability is fast becoming the number one agrarian issue. Developing urbanization continues to present challenges.
