Alternative Testing Methods and Their Acceptabilities to Regulatory Authorities

In vivo toxicological tests, especially those on mammals, have been playing a very important role in assessing the effects of chemicals on human health. However, in vivo mammalian studies are facing extensive pressure from animal protecting societies and their validity for the evaluation of risks to human is also sometimes in question from science communities.
