Application of a Sequential Dispersive Liquid- liquid Microextraction Method for the Determination of Fenoxaprop-P-ethyl in Water Samples
Aryloxyphenoxy-propionate herbicides (ArPPEs) are a class of fatty acid synthesis inhibitors. They act on acetyl-CoA carboxylase ( ACCase ) , which catalyzes the transformation of acetyl-CoA to malonyl-CoA during the initial step of fatty acid synthesis. ArPPEs exhibit a negative effect on the synthesis of lipids, resulting in the inhibition of the production of cell membranes, cytoplasmic membranes, or other waxy substances. This type of herbicide is toxic to aquatic organisms, especially fish. The fenoxaprop-P-ethyl is widely used ArPPE in agricultural practices, and the accumulation of the herbicide could potentially pollute and destroy fish populations in natural water systems.
