Multi-residue Analysis of Pesticides in Fruits, Vegetables and Processed Foods by State-of-the-Art LC/MSMS System

Modern multi-residue methods for pesticide analysis typically cover hundreds of compounds of different chemical classes. Because of the number of pesticides used and the sensitivity needed for monitoring hundreds of pesticides in a single analysis, liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometer (LC/MSMS) incorporating multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) has become the most widely used technique for quantitation of pesticides in foods. However, conventional MRM method have to decrease dwell time to increase the number of target pesticides. On the other hand, Dynamic MRM (dMRM) method allows us to efficiently detect a large list of MRM transitions without compromising the dwell time for each MRM. Furthermore, a single MRM transition per pesticide is not enough to validate the presence of a pesticide without any doubt.
