Development of High Performance Wetting Adjuvants for Pesticides

1. Introduction It is acknowledged that some recent problems of agricultural formulation and application are cost reduction, environment safety, and laborsaving. If there is a method of increasing the effect of agrichemicals by super adjuvant, we can expect that the adjuvant technology will resolve the aforementioned problems. We have considered methods to achieve a reduction in pesticide (such as reduction of concentration, spray frequency, and spray volume). We have studied superior wetting performance through improvement of the action on the cuticle of the plant surface by using interfacial control technology in our laboratory, and a new adjuvant (Polyoxyalkylene ether type surfactant (KP5134)) has been developed. It is reported that KP5134 and KP-5145 used as tank mix type adjuvants increase the pesticides effects (rain-fastness and pesticide reduction) , and the mechanism analysis.
