The Discovery of Insecticidal l-(3,5-Dichloro- pyridin-2-y1) -pyrazole Carboxamides

Chlorantraniliprole, as a ryanodine receptor activator, is the first anthranilamide insecticide developed by DuPont. Chlorantraniliprole is characterized by its excellent insecticidal activity, broad pest spectrum across numerous crops and low toxicity to mammals. Based on Chlorantraniliprole s structure, a lead optimization project focusing on the modification of pyridine ring was carried out in our group since 2006. The l-(3, 5-dichloropyridin-2-yl)-pyrazole carboxamide HBY-625 with high insecticidal activity was discovered in 2008. Further optimization on the benzene ring leads to the discovery of compound HBY682.
