Chemical Regulation of Strigolactone Functions Opens the Door to New Agricultural Technology
Biologically active small molecules regulating plant functions 1) are very useful for analyzing new functions of plant hormones; 2) can be developed as plant growth regulators; 3) can be applied in a genetic screen to identify new gene functions. Here I introduce the development of small bioactive chemicals regulating functions of new plant hormone, strigolactones, and their significance in plant hormone research and agriculture.
