Structural Insights into the Mode of Actions of and Resistance to Neonicotinoids
Neonicotinoids are neutotoxic insecticides targeting nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs). They not only activate the cation-permeable ion channels of nAChRs, resulting in depolarization of nerve membranes, but can also block a subclass of nAChRs. Whether the actions are agonistic or antagonistic, neonicotinoids selectively act on insect nAChRs.
