A Novel Phytotoxic Hexapeptide Hapalocyclamide Isolated from Cyanobacterium and Its Mode of Action
Cyanobacteria (blue green algae) are the oldest life forms of photosynthetic organisms. They produce a wide variety of bioactive metabolites with diverse biological activities and these products might be potentially useful as biocontrol agents. Although the effects of cyanobacterial products on microorganisms have been examined extensively, there are only a few reports concerning their effects on plant growth.
