Experimental Investigation of Novel Casing Treatment with Bias Flow
In the present research, the experiments of a novel casing treatment with various inspiring air or blowing air are conducted The results show that the stall margin can be improved using the novel casing treatment with help of bias flow obviously, but the bias flow rate is smaller. The mechanism of bias flow on stall margin improvement is the changing of the unsteady shedding flow and the unsteady wall boundary impedance. The experimental results agree very well with the theoretical prediction using flow stability model of rotating stall.
