Theoretical and Experimental Study on the Relationship Between the Stiffness of the Squirrel Cage and the Damping Performance of the SFD
In this project, a test rig of a rotor with SFD is established. On basis of this, the rotor is modeled mathematically, and the steady imbalance response is calculated on the method of matrix transfer and on the assumption of short bearing and x - film;moreover, the measurement of the vibrations of the rotor with and without SFD is conducted under variable squirrel cage stiffness. Both theoretical and experimental studies show that the less the stiffness of the squirrel cage is, a stronger damping performance the SFD gets.
