Modeling and Simulation of Intercooled Recuperated Aero-engine
The principle of the Intercooled Recuperated Aeroengine (IRA) was studied and an overall performance simulation model of the IRA was developed. Incorporated with intercooler, recuperator and corresponding piping system, the IRA model was developed from the conventional two-spool unmixed flow turbofan engine. Computational method of special component (such as intercooler and recuperator) models was introduced. And the IRA performance simulation process was illustrated. After the performance simulation, altitude characteristics, velocity characteristics and throttling characteristics of IRA were obtained.
