Method of Fuel Selection of Air-Turbo-Ramjet Based on CEA
In order to extend the applicability, increase the precision of existing Air-Turbo-Ramjet (ATR) model and choose the optimal oxidizer/fuel, established and updated the ATR model to incorporate the Chemical Equilibrium with Applications (CEA) written by NASA Lewis Research Center. On the given design point, the optimal turbine expansion ratio of four different oxidizer/fuel have been obtained and analyzed in the smith chart;and the specific impulse/thrust has been obtained. The simulation results have shown that the different of mass flow rate and turbine expansion ratio of turbine among the four typical oxidizer/fuel mixtures;and the hydrogen/oxygen is the optimal propellant.
