Analysis of Operating Parameters for Vertical Take Off and Landing(VTOL) Aircraft Engine
Based on component matching and multi-point analysis, both mathematical and physical models for a turbofan plus a shaft-driven forward lift fan powerplant were developed with introduction of lift fan and roll post modules. The cycle operating parameters for VTOL operations were given, such as nozzle throat area and bypass mixer area The low pressure turbine changes its working point by altering the nozzle throat area and the mixer area. It is necessary to match the engine with appropriate parameters.
