Throttling Performance Analysis of Intercooled Recuperated Turbofan Aero-engine

The existing performance simulation model of highbypass dual-shaft intercooled recuperated turbofan aero-engine (IRA) has been improved on MATLAB platform. By using the improved model, the throttling performance of IRA has been calculated under the cruise condition and the overall performance and components matching are analyzed by contrasting with that of the conventional engine. The analysis results show that, with the same design cycle parameters to the conventional engine, IRA is able to work regularly in throttling condition and the SFCCSpecific Fuel Consumption) of IRA is 8%~12% lower than that of the conventional turbofan engine, but the stability margin of booster gets worse.
