Numerical Simulation of RCS for Converged Nozzle with Different Outlet Shape

The nozzle cavity is a mean radar scattering source of aircrafts, playing an important role in aircraft stealth performance. Thus the investigation of its radar cross section (RCS) characteristics is of important meaning to the RCS analysis and stealth design of aircrafts. In this paper, the iterative physical optic (IPO) approach was combined with equivalent edge currents (EEC) method;considering influence of the diffraction field, the RCS characteristics of different outlet shape were obtained. Simultaneously, a judging method on the contour line of outlet shape was proposed. On this basis, the RCS characteristics of the converged nozzles with five different outlet shapes were researched. It is shown that the program developed in this paper owns good calculation accuracy.
