Research on the Modeling and Simulation of Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger System based on MPCE
Heat exchanger is applied in the field of heat transfer to conserve energy. Therefore, it has been widely used in various industrial production areas, and it is indispensable. Furthermore, most of the heat exchangers are classical shell and tube heat exchangers. In this paper, the technological process of a typical shell and tube heat exchanger based on the multifunction process control platform (MPCE) is discussed in detail. In order to improve control effect and heat transfer efficiency, this research tries to establish a mathematical model using mechanism modeling methods. Then, we design a set of control system schemes for this proposed model of the shell and tube heat exchanger. The structures of PID and feedforward-feedback control system are configured in the MPCE Studio software. Simulation experiment results using feedforward-feedback control strategy are compared to the traditional control algorithms. The simulated curves confirm the effectiveness of the control algorithms.
