Analysis on Wheel/Rail Friction Characteristic for In-service Train with Multi-Body Dynamics Simulation
Utilizing non-contact gap sensors equipped on non-rotating parts of a bogie, a new measuring method of wheel/rail contact forces have been developed.Using the developed bogie, continuous measurement on a commercial subway-line has been carried out.In actual commercial line, the wave shape of derailment coefficients shows characteristic behavior along track because of the variation of wheel/rail friction characteristic. In this paper, methods to identify the value of friction coefficient along curved section are introduced. The characteristic wave shape at a certain curved section is fundamentally understood by the comparison between numerical simulation with multi-body dynamics and experimentally obtained data with a new measuring method.
