Lubrication Characteristics Analysis of Journal Bearing through Numerical Modeling Considering Bending Effect
In this study, analysis for operating characteristics of journal bearing lubrication system is performed based on numerical model.Dynamic bearing lubrication characteristics such as oil film pressure distribution and oil film thickness can be analyzed through numerical model with an integration of elastohydrodynamic lubrication and flexible multibody dynamics.Moreover, mesh grid control and oil hole and groove effect are implemented for more accurate analysis under various condition.Especially, oil film thickness variation by elastic deformation is reflected in elastohydrodynamic lubrication by considering bending effect of journal resulting from oil film pressure on operating.And then, the oil film thickness variation is applied to formulation to calculate oil film pressure in elastohydrodynamic lubrication.A series of process like this is available for this study to analyze realistic elastohydrodynamic lubrication phenomenon.Finally, numerical examples for journal bearing lubrication systems are demonstrated.
