Application of Gray Correlativity Analysis on Broomcorn Millet Varieties and Comprehensive Evaluation

The grey correlativity analysis was conducted to comprehensively evaluate tested broomcorn millet (japonica) varieties in regional trial in 2009-2011. The results showed that growth traits were related to yield trait in varying degrees, the order was: plant grain weight > 1000-grain weight > node numbers of main stem > height > fertility days > main ear length > panicle weight. And broomcorn millet varieties tested JM09-09 was the best performing, JM09-02 followed, JM09-06 integrated the worst performance. Comprehensive analysis showed that selection and promotion of the broomcorn millet varieties could not only see single yield trait, should consider associated with reproductive traits, and technical measures should be used to improve the strains of grain weight and grain weight, to increase production ultimately.
