Numerical Simulation Investigation on Axial Multi-channel Spiral Dehydrator

Dehydration efficiency of the dehydrator determines collection efficiency of the wet dust collector.In order to improve collection efficiency of the wet dust collector, a new axial multi - channel spiral dehydrator is designed.With numerical simulation method, the paper calculates collection efficiency of total dust, collection efficiency of respirable dust, pressure loss of 65 spiral dehydrator models.The results show; ( 1) when the inner cylinder radius increases from 0.06m to 0.14m, collection efficiency of total dust, collection efficiency of respirable dust and pressure loss of the spiral dehydrator increase gradually.( 2 ) When the axial length of single helical channel increases gradually, collection efficiency of total dust, collection efficiency of respirable dust and pressure loss of the spiral dehydrator model decrease gradually.( 3 ) When the helical channel number increases gradually, collection efficiency of total dust, collection efficiency of respirable dust and pressure loss of the spiral dehydrator model decrease gradually.In the view of collection efficiency and pressure loss, the best structure size of the spiral dehydrator is as follows; the length is 1.5m, and outer cylinder radius is 0.4m, and inner cylinder radius is 0.1m, and helical channel number is 4, and the axial length of single helical channel is from 0.15m to 0.28m.
