Application of Transient Electromagnetic Method Meticulously Prospecting Water-rich Area of Coal

One of the prime reasons why Coal Mine hydraulic disaster often leading to water inrush accident, which caused by Rich water area, serious threatens the safe of the coalmine.The transient electromagnetic method, calling TEM, can effectively detect occurrence characteristics of rich water area, and find out water - bearing structures and karst - fractured ground-water caused by fault and collapsed poles at coal mining working face surroundings.The detection results can effectively guide the prevention and control of water coal mine.Comparing with other detection methods, TEM has plumbed the low resistance of geological sensitively in vertical and horizontal distinguishes rate and for long distances non - destructive with high performance and high efficiency, which can apply in underground or the ground in a flexible way.This paper describe underground and ground transient electromagnetic detection application in a coal mining in western China, And the results demonstrate that TEM is a good approach for for prevention and cure water hazard in coal mine and have broad application prospects.
