Case Study on Tempered Glass with the Sprinkler Protection as Fire Partition of the Shops
This paper takes a large commercial complex for the engineering case, according to the problem that the solid wall is more difficultly adopt between the indoor pedestrian street and shops, the feasibility of using sprinkler protected tempered glass as the fire partition has been studied with the application of performance - based fire design method, the corresponding fire scenarios have been set to calculate the temperature and radiation flux of the glass surface, and the calculated results are compared with the safety performance criterion. The result shows that the water curtain formed by automatic sprinkler system can effectively prevent heat or fire spread, greatly reduce glass front — back fire surface temperature and radiant heat flux, so the tempered glass with the reasonable sprinkler protection can be used as the fire partition to separate the shops from the indoor pedestrian street.
