The Effects of Gesture-based Learning with Virtual Reality on Counting Ability for Children with Cerebral Palsy

This study investigated the effects of Gesture-based Learning with Virtual Reality (GBLVR) on Counting Ability of 3 Children with Cerebral Palsy whose counting responding showed difficulty in classroom.Through GBLVR math courses, the children with CP intuitively move their whole body and learned numbers (1-10) counting. The singlesubject experimental design of multiple probe design across subjects was used to evaluate the effects. The independent variables were Gesture-based Learning with Virtual Reality, and the dependent variables were the score of Counting Ability. The results of this study show that an instant effect, a maintenance effect and generalization effect of the score of Counting Ability were found.
