The Association between Internet Usage and Internet Addiction among College Students: The Gender Difference

摘要：

This study evaluated the mediating effect of Internet usage between gender and Internet addiction.A total of 444 valid copies (199 from male and 245 from female) were collected from a university in Taiwan.Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the results.The result revealed that higher level on Internet usage, including social interaction, game playing, and information seeking, caused higher level of Internet addiction.Furthermore, males tend to be Internet addicted users than females in higher level of playing online games.
