Dynamic Comparative Analysis on Chinese Exports International Competitiveness
World economic recovery gets slowly at present. International demand is shrinking. Trade friction is rising. China is in the period of economic transition and uncertainty factors is increasing. In view of the present situation, this paper re-analyzes Chinese exports competitive advantage, which has vital practical significance to promote Chinas export growth. This paper analyzes International Competitiveness of Chinas exports from 1992 to 2010 with compound annual growth Rate (CAGR) index, international market share (IMS) index and related comparative advantage (RCA) index. The results indicates that Chinas labor-intensive products have strong international Competitiveness but will face decreasing comparative advantage; Chinas capital intensive products are in a position of weakness, but will confront with increasing comparative advantage. As a large number of Capital-technology intensive exports are exported by the way of processing trade, comparative advantage of China has not really changed yet.
