A Study on the Structure of Import Commodities in China: Empirical Analysis Based on 2001-2010 Data
With Chinas accession to the WTO and the rapid development of the economy, Chinas import volume has rapidly grown, the import commodity structure is steady, the import market structure is concentrated, the import subject is diversified, the import mode of trade is characterized by the typical general trade, and the import regional distribution is unbalanced. To a certain extent, the characteristics resent situation of Chinese import structure has reflected the endowment of production factors, the present situation of the international division, the level of industrial and economic development, and Chinas trade policy. Therefore, we should further optimize import commodity structure, promote the diversification of import market, balance import and export of domestic distribution, promote the bilateral free trade negotiations, perfect import management and supporting services, thus enabling import to play an important role in complementing domestic insufficient resources supply, promoting technological progress and industrial upgrading.
