Empirical Study of Financial Support for the Shipping Industry——Taking Ningbo City as an Example
The shipping industry is a capital intensive industry, with a huge amount of investment required, and long investment recovery period, but it is difficult to rely on its own funds to meet the business needs of all the funds. But the development of the financial industry can play a role in the investment and finance of shipping, providing capital protection for the shipping industry. In this dissertation, the data which presents the development of financial and shipping industry in Ningbo City from 1995 to 2010 will be used to complete the empirical research, with unit root tests, Granger causality, cointegration. Then I analyze systematically the inner connection between the financial industry and the shipping industry in Ningbo City, and the extent of financial support to the shipping industry in Ningbo. The results show that the long-run equilibrium relationship between Ningbo shipping industry and financial exists, and the financial deposit and loan balances has a positive role in promoting the improvement of cargo. However, now it is not significant that finance have support to the shipping industry in Ningbo City. And according to the conclusions, Ningbo should be appropriate to carry out financial innovation, pay attention to the development of shipping high-end services and develop recommendations shipping finance.
