On the Digital Copyright Management in China
Digital media and network connections are the most democratic of media, promoting free expression and access to information wherever a computer can be hooked up to a telephone line. However the digital copyrighted works are posing serious problems in the copyright protection, which is threatening the traditional copyright protection system and calls for a new protection system suitable for the digital age. This paper focuses the current situation of digital copyright protection, combined with the analysis of the revision draft of copyright law in Peoples Republic of China in 2012, gives the suggestions on the establishment of Chinese digital copyright management system, including setting up the digital copyright Directive similar to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of America, the new digital copyright collective management organization and the usage of technological management system. The series of strategies will improve the copyright protection standard and cultural competitiveness of China.
