Simulation Study on the efficacy of Bayesian Multiple Treatment Meta-analysis Model
Background: Traditional meta-analysis synthesizing randomized controlled trials (RCT) is generally used for the comparison between two treatments or complete design of multiple treatments. In recent years, a new developed method based on traditional meta-analysis is called multiple treatments meta-analysis (MTM), also known as, network meta-analysis or mixed treatments comparison (MTC) meta-analysis. This method can get the results of all the treatments for pairwise comparison, not only in the designs stated above but also in incomplete design of multiple treatments. Moreover, it can rank the effectiveness of treatments from superiority to inferiority. Currently, modeling in Bayesian approach prevails in application.
