Performance Evaluation of Listed Commercial Banks Based on Factor Analysis
This paper evaluates the performance of 16 listed commercial banks with factor analysis method based on 12 measurement indicators. The result shows that performance level of state-owned holding commercial banks is generally better than that of other shareholding commercial banks, except Bank of Communications. Tremendous differences exist in the performance of shareholding commercial banks, in which Bank of Ningbo has integrated performance in the lead of other bank and at the same level of state-owned holding commercial banks. The performance level of Bank of Nanjing, China CITIC Bank, CEB and SPDB is roughly close to the industrial average value. The performance level of other shareholding commercial banks is below the industrial average level, which should be enhanced.
