Study on Credit-rationing and Reform of Rural Areas in China

The asymmetric information leads adverse selection and moral hazard in rural credit market. Credit market failure caused by rural creditrationing has restricted the development of the rural economy in China. There are many reasons of credit-rationing in rural areas. Features of peasant household and deletion of risk-compensation mechanism also causes credit-rationing to a certain extent. The monopoly of rural credit market strengthens the asymmetric information and creditrationing greatly. Reform of the financial system and restructuring of the rural financial policy are very important for how to relieve the creditrationing in China.
