Urbanization, Industrial Structure Upgrading and Consumption Growth
The industrial structure upgrading is slow and consumption demand is insufficient, which restricts Chinas economic and social sustainable development. This paper points out that urbanization is the important way to upgrade industrial structure and stimulate consumption growth. Regarding urbanization as a starting point, we study on the mechanism that urbanization promotes industrial structure upgrading and consumption growth. Combining with the present situation of China’s urbanization, we analyze the factors that restrain the mechanism from displaying function, and finally we put forward that free flow of production factors, improving the benefit of urbanization and reducing the cost of urbanization are the ways to push the process of urbanization. These ways could form the benign interaction between urbanization, industrial structure upgrading and consumption growth.
