Service Trade Shall Be the Locomotive of Shanxi Resource-based Economy Transformation
Shanxi is an important energy base in China, and the coal industry is the most important pillar industry in Shanxi. Having made a great contribution to economic construction, the long-term development of coal resources industry also led to the formation of resource-based economy highly dependent on coal. This single resource-based model of economic development and industrial structure are no longer fit for the trend of regional economic development, and the decreasing market needs of resource-based products and the declining economic benefits recession is leading to the regional economy away from sustainable development. Relying on coal resources, the industrial structure in Shanxi Province is relatively homogeneous, generating the resource depletion; the economy is facing a serious problem of no space for further development. The resource-based economy transition is becoming a strategic task of building a new national energy and industrial base in Shanxi. In the context of restructuring the world economy toward service-oriented economy, the development of services is a powerful channel for the transformation of economic growth, and the development of service optimization is one of the ways of resource-based economic transformation. Starting from the importance of services trade in Shanxis resource-based economies transition, the author analyzes the existing problems of the Shanxi trade in services, and proposes some countermeasures.
