Urbanization Trends and Logistics Systems
The demographic shift implies a massive change of current logistics systems. Not only the technical processing is affected, so the process itself, but also the staff in logistics areas are touched. Meanwhile here are always placed greater demands on the skills and qualification of people, that means higher requirements in education. So the first sign of structural change can be considered as the reverse of suburbanization into re-urbanization of areas. This obviously has implications for the logistics in these regions. Moreover, this fact not only changes the object logistics, but also those who do it. People will tend to be older, so there is a challenge too - on the part of customers and workers. The following text provides a n overview of the current situation in North Rhine Westphalia and which aspects have to be considered.
