A New Flux-Weakening Control Strategy Considering Voltage Saturation for IPMSM Drives

This paper proposes a new flux-weakening control strategy for Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) drives. The difference between the input voltage and output voltage of the SVPWM is used to modify d-axis current to realize the flux-weakening control strategy. MTPA control strategy is used in constant torque region and proposed flux-weakening control strategy is used in constant power region. Automatic transition between the two regions can be achieved smoothly owing to the proposed method. The computer simulation results are shown to verify the proposed algorithm, which can improve the rapid performance of the control system and realize anti-windup. The algorithm also improves torque output capacity in the constant power region due to the expansion of the utilization rate of the dc-link voltage.
