Development of the Aircraft Derivative Design Process Considering Sensitivity and Uncertainty of Design Parameters
A sensitivity analysis and an expert system have been applied to find the important design parameters for designing derivative aircraft subject to new design requirements.Additionally, the Reliability Based Design Optimization (RBDO) and Possibility Based Design Optimization (PBDO) methods are applied to handle uncertainties of design optimization. This design process can be used to reduce the time and cost for aircraft derivative design by reducing the number of design variables. In this study, the process is applied to a light business jet aircraft case study.
