A study of mechanical sensibility and the optimal design--In case of a three hinge truss
Purpose: In carrying out a structural design, mechanical sensibility is important. However all registered architects do not have sufficient mechanical sensibility. In order to cultivate sensibility generally, it is important to experience a genuine article . What is the genuine article for mechanical sensibility? In this research, the minimum weight solution is treated as the genuine article. It is necessary that the design knowhow is learned by analyzing the mechanical rational forms which become minimum weight, under the structure form to which the domain for a design, the loading condition, and the boundary condition were set. The purpose of this research is to offer the design know-how by analysis of the optimal solution in order to cultivate mechanical sensibility.
