Structural Morphogenesis for Free Form Surface Shell Using Swarm Intelligence with Decent Solution Search Manipulation
In this paper, the particle swarm optimization (PSO) and the artificial bee colony (ABC) are used for the structural morphogenesis. In general, the structural morphogenesis is treated as the optimization problem. However, searching of the decent solutions to maintain diversity on the design variable space and the objective function space simultaneously is important in the structural morphogenesis. These decent solutions have comparatively high evaluation containing a global optimal solution (Pareto optimal solution) and local optimal solutions (local Pareto solutions), and diversity of the design variable space. Therefore, PSO and ABC implementing a manipulation for decent solution search are proposed here.GA with manipulation for the decent solution search has already been proposed by one of the authors. Its procedure is called ISGA (GA with immune system). We propose new PSO and ABC scheme with the decent solution search manipulation using the computational procedure in ISGA.Our schemes are applied to the structural morphogenesis for free form surface shell corresponding to the single-objective optimization problem. From numerical results, a lot of free surface shell forms with diversity and structural stability are shown.
