Manufacturing Process Design of Multi-scale Synthetic Leaves Based on Microcapillary Plastic Film
In order to develop the new environment-friendly synthetic leaves, the concept of synthetic leaves based on microcapillary plastic film (MCF) is proposed according to the existing MCF process. The manufacturing scheme of multi-scale synthetic leaves based on MCF is designed below: (1) development of new dynamic MCF extrusion technology, (2) manufacturing of synthetic leaves with controlled dynamic microcapillary and multi-scale microstructure using the supercritical fluid foaming and the excimer laser drilling technology, (3) functional bionic of the leaf transpiration. The feasibility of the abovementioned scheme is proved with the carried-out experiments. The successful development of the MCF synthetic leaves will not only provide a new way to solve the desertification problem, but also to promote advancement of many fields such as microstructure plastic processing, plant physiology ecology, bionics and micro fluidic system.
